Baja Fish Taco Print

No, it isn't at Rubio's.  Odds are good that you've never heard of this place unless you live in San Pedro or know me.

Larry Hodgson is a graduate of the CIA and was head chef at The Grand House in San Pedro before leaving to open this eclectic beach diner in the mid-80s.  Great food--no liquor license, so bring your own wine or beer--wonderful desserts (Larry has been named "Best Pastry Chef" by the So. Calif. Restaurant Writers three years running) and a good time by all.

There is no web site, but if you check Yelp you'll find that Beach City Grill gets 5 stars from everybody, and for good reason.  The specials board always has good stuff on it and did I mention the desserts are fabulous?

But the Baja Fish Taco is my favorite item.  It's huge, filled with perfectly cooked snapper, comes on steamed corn tortillas, and is better than any other.

So you won't be confused, there are two Baja Fish Tacos on this plate.  That's a glass of iced tea in the background, which is nicely spiced with cinnamon.

By the way, start with an order of Cajun sweet potato fries.  They're really good, too.  And be sure you get an order of the feta cheese dip for dipping--great with these fries.
